Getting to Rawai: A Visitor's Guide

Rawai sits on the southern tip of Phuket, a short drive from Nai Harn and Chalong, and a little further from the busier resort strips of Patong and Karon. It's known for a quieter, more local pace — a fishing pier, a long seafood-market strip along the beach road, and fewer high-rise resorts than elsewhere on the island.
Getting around
Most visitors get around Rawai by rented scooter, taxi, or ride-hailing app — there's no rail or metro on Phuket, so having some way to cover a few kilometres at a time is worth planning for.
What's nearby
Rawai Beach itself is a working beach more than a swimming one, but it's a short trip to Nai Harn Beach and Ya Nui Beach, both popular for swimming, and to the viewpoints along the southern coast.
Planning a visit
If you're building a day around a spa visit, Rawai works well paired with a morning at Nai Harn or Ya Nui — swim, then finish the day with a massage, the sauna and steam room, and a late lunch before heading back to wherever you're staying.
